Day 1
Welcome to Ecuador! Arrival in Quito city (2850m.) and transfer to Otavalo, indigenous textail production center (90min. approx.). (-/-/-)
Day 2
In the morning a visit to Otavalo’s market. Afterwards we will take a short hike around Cuicocha crater lagoon (3200m). Overnight in Otavalo. (B/BL/-)
Day 3
City tour in Quito’s old town and visit The Middle of the World Monument. Overnight in Quito. (B/-/-)
Day 4
Discover Mindo’s Cloud Forest at 1500m, do some bird watching, hike in the waterfall sanctuary, visit the chocolate factory and enjoy the butterfly farm. Overnight in Quito. (B/-/-)
Day 5
Depart from Quito to Papallacta Hot springs on the eastern highlands. After this, we will take you to the amazon region around Tena city. Overnight in a local lodge. (B/-/D)
Day 6
Hike in the rainforest and in the afternoon different optional activities around the lodge such as: tubing, visit an animal rescue center, share with the local community and learn about natural medicine and pottering. Overnight in a local lodge. (B/L/D)
Day 7
We leave the amazon and go to the cloud forest in Baños (1800m). Different activities like rafting, zip lining, biking, hiking and more are available in this small town. Overnight in Baños. (B/-/-)
Day 8
This day we will visit “Casa del Árbol” (Tree House), the “Hand of Pacha Mama” viewpoint and hike to El Pailón del Diablo or “The Devil´s cauldron” waterfall. Overnight in Baños. (B/-/-)
Day 9
We leave Baños and drive back up westwards to the highest point of our trip, up to 5100m on the Chimborazo volcano. Overnight in Guamote, a small indigenous town in the Andes at 3200m. (B/BL/D)
Day 10
Depart from Guamote and head to Ingapirca Inca ruins. Overnight in Cuenca. (B/-/-)
Day 11
Discover the UNESCO world cultural heritage city Cuenca, with a city tour in the old town. We will visit the Panama Hat factory (sombrero de Paja Toquilla) and optionally Gualaceo and Chordeleg. Overnight in Cuenca. (B/-/-)
Day 12
This day we are heading to the “pearl of the pacific” the city of Guayaquil. On the way we will visit the “El Cajas” national park with its amazing views and on the coast “ The Manglares Churute” reserve, one of the last mangrove forests in Ecuador. Overnight in Guayaquil. (B/-/-)
Day 13
Depending on your chosen program, you can continue your trip to Galapagos or take your international flight. (B/-/-)
